Pinterest Revealed New Ad Tools and Creative Features at Pinterest Presents Event

Pinterest unveils a range of new ad products and display options including new ad formats, creative options, “Collages” for pins, and shopping tools during their annual summit “Pinterest Presents” event for users, marketers, and agencies.

Pinterest is expanding Premiere Spotlight from search to the home feed to enable advertisers to reach visitors as soon as they open Pinterest. An average of 465 million people use Pinterest every month to find new ideas and discover more products. Premium Spotlight on Search and Home Feed is initially available in selected countries.

“Premiere Spotlight allows brands to exclusively own premium ad placements on the platform to promote their campaign for maximum visibility”.

Pinterest is also launching “Showcase ads” and “Quiz ads” for more in-stream engagement and interactive options. Showcase ads will appear as large tiles within the feed and multiple Pins can be displayed in a single unit so that you can add links to your website to each Pin. In this way, brands can display multiple features, products, services, and styles as well as include three clickable link features of the website to ease people to show what they are actually looking for.

Whereas, in Quiz ads, brands can include up to three questions each to create a fun experience in order to engage people with a deeper level of personalization. They are initially available in selected countries.

Pinterest is now adding direct links in addition to mobile deep links to go from discovery to purchase and drive more traffic to business websites for conversion. They are available in selected formats.

Mobile deep links help to instantly direct users to a specific page in a retailer’s mobile app, making it easier to shop for products after clicking on a shopping ad. Direct links take people from a Pinterest ad to a retailer’s website with just one click, reducing the steps it takes for users to go from discovering a product to checkout.

In a similar development, Pinterest is also integrating its native applications with “Salesforce Commerce Cloud” and “Adobe Commerce” to make it easy for businesses to control their shoppable Pins and display types on the platform.

A new Creative Studio is also in the developing stages through Pinterest to give brands an edge in generating lifestyle imagery for product pins.

Pinterest stated:

“Brands will be able to simply add their Pin link, select the prompts that match their need, and Creative Studio will then generate a selection of custom background images”.

It seems like the creative studio is working with generative AI to ease the brands even though we hadn’t seen this type of example before from Pinterest. It could be indeed a new development that will enhance the look of pins. However, it is in the testing phase for US advertisers only.

Pinterest is now adding a “Collage” to refine the vision of users and bring inspiration to their lives. Users can build interactive collages of their favorite ideas using collages, which let them cut out parts of Pins and merge them with other cutouts to enhance the pin’s beauty. As colleges are in early testing they will be available soon.

Additionally, Pinterest releases an update about automated business tools and includes a business manager tool to help complex workstreams. They are adding five new tools including business dashboards to analyze investments with successful targeted options. It will be available in all countries with ads later this fall.
